cannot login into skype on ubuntu 13.10

Hello,
since yesterday i cannot login into skype on my computer- it simply quited
i thought i've forgotten my pass, since i couldnt login, changed it, and still- i cnnot connect

few days ago i've recieved a mail regarding upgrading skype- and i didnt do it
meanwhile i read the new version has many problems, so i simply stayed with what i have..

on the mobile skype still functions perfectly

what would u recommend me to do?

Can you start Skype from theconsole and report any error message?
To do that, open the Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) type

skype

and press Return!

no error msg- it opens it, but i still cant login..

Saucy is EOL and no longer supported by Canonical or the Ubuntu community. Please upgrade to a supported release.
