Asked by Julianloui

I would like to know how to install gfxCardStatus in Ubuntu 12.04 in order to connect an external display to a MacBook Pro laptop. Any help will be appreciated. As far as I can tell, it appears to be an HTML file.

Gfxcardstatus runs only on MacOS so will not run on Ubuntu. What does the application do that you need and we may be able to advise alternatives

It's supposed to help installing an external display in Linux on a MacBook Pro laptop. I've seen the topic discussed extensively at http://discussions.apple.com and Ubuntu Forums.

Too bad that nobody has responded to a previous post of mine on how to connect an MBP in Linux to an external display, which this forum took down only a few days ago. Thanks.

Why you would want to buy a mac then not use MacOS is beyond my comprehension. May as well buy a non-Mac system, you'd save a packet

Can you help with this problem?
