Asked by James Hudson

OS installed fine, but I'm missing device manager, and can't troubleshoot my wireless issue without it.

Thanks for the question.

I am not sure what you mean with the missing device manager. If you refer to the windows device manager, this works in Ubuntu differently.

Here is some information how to configure and troubleshoot wireless issues: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NetworkDevices#head-a54b0d9ad3156fc55d6af2185e0a2f96f9d5d5b9

Hope this helps.

Actually, what I am speaking of is what the online troubleshooter describes as "system->administration->device manager. My install does not have this option. Also, I have tried to install ndsiwrapper through the synaptic package manager...it shows as installed, but doesn't appear in any of the drop down menus.
Thanks for your help!

Ndiswrapper is started automatically and does not appear in any drop down menu. Here is more help for ndiswrapper: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/Ndiswrapper and https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/Ndiswrapper/FAQ

Hope this helps.
