Is it possible to change the bitrate to 192kHz?

Asked by Michael J Vallely

Hello,

I have a DAC that will do rates from 44.1 to 192kHz. my DAC is currently receiving 48kHz. How can I change this so I get 192kHz?

Thank You

Without answering the question:
A sample rate of 192 kHz is not really usefull. A waveform can be reconstructed when there are two samples per wave periode. So, with sampling rate of 48 kHz you can record frequencies of up to 24 kHz perfectly. The human ear can hear 20 kHz at most.

Of cause there are other demands to sell equipment which samples at higher rates. The first to mention is marketing.

Of course, you would have to change 48000 to 192000, and note the caveats in the link: http://arunraghavan.net/2011/10/alternate-sample-rates/

Can you help with this problem?
