Backup softwares compatible with ubuntu server

I would like to find out whether are the following backup softwares: "HP Open View Data Protector" or " Symantec BackupExec" or "Symantec VERITAS Netbackup" compatible with ubuntu server edition 7.06?

Hello,

actually I cannot answer your question directly. I guess those commercial applications are at least not certified to run on Ubuntu. But as a hint you could check if they are said to run on Debian Etch that they should also run on a quite recent version of Ubuntu.

Otherwise check if you can integrate with a free alternative like BackupPc (already avaible for Ubuntu through the official repositories).
