why is xhci_hcd builtin?

This driver seems quite buggy - I have to compile my own kernel to be able to load/unload it as a module.

I see that there are many bug reports relating to it.

You could update the bugs with "this affects me too" and suggest your fix. There will be a flurry of emails sent to the bug guys and it may make them take action sooner
