20 days away from pc, logged in and everything was gone!

Returned from Hospital after 20 days, logged in and everything (docs, music, accounts, faxes and downloads) was gone. I did not have a back-up, don't know why everything was erased, never happened. Don't know what to do.

Can you please provide some more information:

Are you sure that you are logging in as the same user as in the past (and not as a guest)?
Where have these files been stored:
- on your computer inside your home directory or
- on and external medium or
- on ubuntuone or
- somewhere else?

Can you help with this problem?
