cat /proc/bus/input/devices does not show the touchpad or thinkpoint.

What is the output of:

sudo dmidecode -t 1; lsb_release -a; uname -a

Thanks.

Removing a package and reinstalling it doesn't do much at all. It removes files, then puts the exact same files in the exact same place. How is that a fix?

I didn't mean that I reinstalled as a fix,; the touchpad/thinkpoint stopped working after reinstalling.

Saucy is EOL during July 2014. It may be beneficial to upgrade to Trusy, either online upgrade or a clean install from CD / USB, wiping off Saucy. You can reinstate user data from your backups.

Can you help with this problem?
