Trying to install Wine 1.6 or Play On Linux window pops saying it must remove Nvidia 304.117

Ubuntu 14.04. Both Wine 1.6 and Play On Linux have a window come up that says it will remove Nvidia 304.117. What is causing this? Wine 1.4 and Play On Linux worked fine on Ubuntu 12.04.

When 14.04 installed, it installed nouveau driver. Would not work. changed to I believe Nvidia 173. Did not work. Changed to 304.117, and has worked fine.

Your screenshot shows that wine/PlayOnLinux does not want to remove the whole NVidia driver, but just the NVidia-libopencl1-304 package. The NVidia driver should be able to work well without that package.

Just reported bug Bug #1333008. Manfred, you are saying that it will remove only part of driver.

The screenshot only talks about the nvidia-libopencl1-304 package (OpenCL Driver and ICD Loader library), not about the nvidia-304 package which is the package that provides the video driver core files.
