ubuntu 14.04 LTS stops

UBUNTU stops after awhile, and I can do nothing than to reboot.
I have Fujitsu/Siemens Laptop with AMD 64/32 bit processor.
I have installed a 32 bit version of UBUNTU.

Have you tested your RAM using Memtest86+ from Grub?

This memtest continues to tell me Probing devices to guess BIOS drives. This may take a long time.

If you hold shift after the system beeps, and access the GRUB menu, if you select a recovery mode options, do you see any errors?

I had a 64bit version of UBUNTU ianstalled. After installing the 32bit version the problem seems to have gone.
