Bodhi 3.0.0-RC1

Asked by Julianloui

I've just downloaded bodhi-3.0.0-x86-rc1.iso.part. Ubuntu 12.04 can't open this file when I try to use it. What program do I need to burn a bootable version of this file on a CD?

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

If the download has finished, rename the file, removing the '.part' from the filename. I suggest you MD5 test the ISO to be sure it is complete and consistant.

You can use the CD burner in Ubuntu to burn the ISO as slowly as possible.

Just so you know, Bodhi Linux is not supported by any part of the Ubuntu community. It has it's own forum and IRC channel.

Andrew,

Thanks very much. Someone also gave me a clue to the .part ending of the file, which means that the download was incomplete. My second download showed the regular .iso extension ending. I followed your advice in burning the CD
at the lowest speed, namely 12x, of K3B and the resultant live CD works fine even though the RC-1 distribution shows
many drawbacks as to be expected from any release candidate.
