Lost menu and status bars in Virtual Box

Since upgrading to 14.04LTS from 12.04LTS I have had nothing but problems, the last one is no menu bar and no status bar in Virtual Box. An earlier post has not been followed through to completion.

That post is #240314 for all the details, if anything is missing I will try to provide that.

it describes in detail what is going on. I even asked if that should become a bug.

So far no answer.

Problem solved by turning off scale mode.
