kazam icon in xubuntu 14.04

Asked by Peter

in xubuntu 14.04 neither kazam or recordmydesktop show an icon you can click on to stop the recording.
The only way is to run system monitor and kill the process. How can this be fixed.

You need to specify the output file, if you press ALT+F2 and run:

recordmydesktop ~/output.ogv

It will start recording, or you can specify a screen region.

With previous xubuntu releases kazam or recordmydesktop worked well and when a recording started put an icon on the panel so you could click on it to stop the recording. With the latest release the icon does not appear. The recording still works providing I run system monitor and kill the process which is very messy. We need the icon feature fixed.
Thanks

Sorry it is not a bug. I did not know that since Xubuntu 14.04 that I had to add an Indicator plugin to the panel.
With that it is okay.

My apologies
