RE: the chess program eboard crashes when I try to run the chess engine crafty

I cannot get the chess engine crafty to run when using eboard. I know that if I install crafty as a separate package xboard is loaded with it. Because of limited hard drive space I cannot use that option besides I am not fond of xboard. the crafty option does exist in eboard but when I try to use the program crashes. Please help me someone.
