Removable Drives and Media

Getting on great with Ubuntu 7.10, it's rock-solid now. The more I use it which is 80% of the time, the more i like it. Patience is still needed but I've made huge progress.
I need a little help here of the configuration kind, let me explain. I have Amorak, VLC and MPlayer and that's it as far as Sound and Video apps. go.

I would like to change things in Removable Drives and Media Prefs. so that these applications will run automatically and I don't have to manually start an Audio CD every time I want to listen to music or play a DVD.

I need to know the commands for Amorak and VLC and would be very grateful for further assistance from the community here.

Amorak? Are you sure? I don't know any application called Amorak, but here is Amarok :-).

Amarok - command is "amarok" (without quotation marks).
VLC - command is "wxvlc" (without quotation marks).
