Installed Ubuntu now what

Asked by melissa

My school does not offer programing so i am trying to teach myself. I have installed Ubuntu successfully; i think everything works. I have come to a wall, i cant decide what programing language to learn first or how to learn it. I have installed Anjuta IDE and Kdevelope, but i have no idea how they work . I am very new to all of this, so any reference or help would be nice.

First you have to take decision which one language will you learn. I recommend you Python - it's not so hard to learn and it's also useful.

Some info:

http://www.python.org/ -- oficial site of python

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Python_(programming_language) -- wikipedia site

http://docs.python.org/tut/ -- the best tutorial I know

http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/3946 -- another tutorial

In these tutorials you can find everything you need - howto write programs and also something about programming in GNU/Linux

First know who and why to become a programer
http://samizdat.mines.edu/howto/HowToBeAProgrammer.html#id2790277

Then start off with HTML or CSS and bash shell programming don't go deep if you that does'nt solve your purpose, inteacting with computer is important and you need to understand what a program is exactly thats all. Then kickoff with python it's very User interactive and versatile this would be the perfect page but unfortunately it is not working wait until it is up

then if you are still thirstier try any scripting language like PERL or Ruby then C# or get back to assembly....

Can you help with this problem?
