Bluetooth audio not routing to paired motorola s9 headset.

Asked by Spike

I have a clean install of 14.04 on a MacBook 3,1. After pairing a Motorola s9 headset to the laptop, I get no audio to the headset after selecting it as my audio output device. The panel to the right still says analog audio, and the sound test is silent. This configuration worked previously in 13.10. I was going to try to remove and re-pair the headset, but cannot find any option to remove the device. Also, a LOCK symbol appears on the laptop bluetooth symbol when the headset is on. I don't remember this symbol in 13.10 when the device was working.

I had exact same problem. I installed and ran pavucontrol from the command line. In the colume control that it brings up I clicked on configuration and under motorola S9 I chose profile and selected high fidelity playback. This somehow brought the option in placyback to select the motorola s9 and in the normal sound configuration I now got the option to configure the s9 headset and it seems to be working.

Can you help with this problem?
