Add/Remove problem

Asked by Qsbite

Hello,
I am new to the Ubuntu/linux software.
I have just installed it today and after few hours of use i found out that I can see Add/Remove Program shortcut in the Aplication tab.
I have tried right click>edit menus but I could see it there either.
Can you help me?

in the edit menus dialog add a new item with the followin properties:

Type: Application
Name: Add/Remove
Command: /usr/bin/gnome-app-install
Comment: Install and remove applications

that's assuming you meant you CAN'T see it...

Open terminal (Applications→Accesories→Terminal) type "gnome-app-install" (without quotation marks).
If you get output
"The program 'gnome-app-install' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install gnome-app-install
bash: gnome-app-install: command not found"

or only
"bash: gnome-app-install: command not found"

it means you don't have it installed and you must go to System→Administration→Synaptic→ fin here package gnome-app-install and install it.
