Ubuntu14.04 LTS locks up in suspend mode, can't log in again

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS locks up in suspend mode...and I can't log back in on Dell E6400 I7 laptop.
The only solution is to reboot the laptop. This is very bad.

Please fix it.

For now I would recommend you stop suspending and shut down instead.

I also suggest you report this as a bug

Include exactly which version of Ubuntu you have including whether 32bit or 64 bit

Was it a clean install or an upgrade

and details of your computer make & model etc.
