Samsung laser printer ml-1865 not working on ubuntu 14.04

Asked by Etienne

Hi,

I install the printer ml-1860 series drrivers and I'm searching like crazy to install the rastertosplc which is no where in any package. I'm getting frustrating to search all the web.

Inactif - File "/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertosplc" not available: No such file or directory

What can I do other than installing 13.04?

I also try on 12.04 it was not working either. Help!

Etienne

13.04 is EOL and there are no packages and no community support. I suggest you use 14.04

If you run:

sudo updatedb; locate rastertosplc

What is output (if anything)?

Thanks

Hi,

Well, I finally got it. The package available on the samsung website for many samsung printer was updated in march. The version is 1.0.0.21 which doesn't contain the cups filter rastertosplc.

Don't download this package from samsung:

Linux V1.00.21 Print Driver 2014.03.12 MULTI LANGUAGE 15.22 MB

I search this file over internet the file that was needed. I got it from a website like cnet…. I just found out now the samsung version Ml-1865w still has it... , I download the older revision 1.00.06:
