You may want to check that with the Debian community as this is for Ubuntu: http://forums.debian.net/

This file is the firmware for a RealTek ethernet card. Debian probably misses the exact driver for your network card, but again, you probably want to ask the question on their forum or IRC channel.

Debian support is nothing to do with Ubuntu support. Similarly Ubuntu is not supported by the Debain community.

My Realtek NIC worked without the firmware, so if your NIC works, you can probably ignore the message.

Otherwise, if you don't have some sort of idealistic aversion to firmware blobs, you'll want to install this package: https://packages.debian.org/wheezy-backports/firmware-realtek

As others have noted, you probably don't want to use this site as your primary source for Debian support. There's plenty of overlap between Ubuntu and Debian, but the support communities are kind of segregated...

Can you help with this problem?
