firefox won't load .yahoo. but will .geeks.

Asked by ringolake

i've got 6.06lts running on a t23 ibm laptop. i've just installed a dsl line. when i try to load .yahoo., the site just hangs. i CAN get to .geeks., for example so i figure it has something to do with something like flashplayer not being installed. i've tried to use the ubuntu site to download what i think might be a solution, but the download(s) never get to my machine. (i'm using a windows machine, now, to type this.) when i used a phone modem with ubuntu, before i got the dsl, websites like .yahoo. were accessible.

thanks for any suggestions.

Perhaps a DNS problem with your ISP? You can probably try using OpenDNS servers and then retry accessing the sites that you mentioned.

Can you help with this problem?
