with 14.04 no more adjustable luminosity with Fn(F5)/(F6) on netbook ASUS VX6

on a netbook ASUs VX6
with 12.04 it worked well: Fn(F5) to make the screen darker and Fn(F6) to make it brighter.
since 14.04 is installed on it seems like the screen stays locked always on 100%.
the transparent scale on the top-right of the screen still goes on and the cursor also moves sideways but the luminosity still stays turned on full.
