Installing Ebson WF-3540 Printer

Asked by Terry Arnall

Desktop PC. Two OSs Windows 7 Professional on one HDD and Ubuntu 13.10 on second HDD, Grub to choose boot up.
Printer works fine with Windows.
When I try to install printer, Ebson WF-3540, Ubuntu finds a driver 201212w, but when I hit forward to continue the waiting icon just continues but nothing happens or installs after 5 minutes.

Thanks for any suggestions.
Terry

The company is Epson, not Ebson. Look at your actual printer.....

What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; lsusb

Thanks

It is asking me for a login.... terry-system-product-name-login:

I have no idea what it's asking for. I tried my screen login, didn't work.

I highlighted the string you gave me and it Ctrl+Alt+T and below is what
came up.
When I typed the string into the command screen and hit enter, about the
same info
was presented..

terry@terry-System-Product-Name:~$

DO NOT type in the command. Copy and Paste. The password will be the one you put in when you installed Ubuntu. When you type password in nothing will show, hit enter. The password will be taken.

You won't get feedback as you type your password. It is being accepted. Just type the password you login with and hit ENTER

Thanks
