rhythmbox dont show album covers

Asked by Bob

On the bottom left side there use to be a window that showed the album cover and when the song changed it would pop up in a bar on the top right)showing the artist and cover that stopped showing the cover too. And the plug in to search for album art is on.

Then you are using a PPA. I suggest you contact the PPA maintainer to report the issue.

how do I do that and what is a PPA?

a PPA is a third party source of packages. The version of rhythmbox from the official Ubuntu repos is 2.99 but you have added the ppa.launchpad.net/jacob/media/ubuntu/ and gotten a later version of the package. This is a user done thing and is not default behavior in Ubuntu.

Whoever has compiled and packaged the rhythmbox version you have has either removed the functionality, or there is a bug with the package itself.

You have been to this page and added the extra source:
https://launchpad.net/~jacob/+archive/media

There ar links on the page you can use to contact the packager.

I went to this page because I was looking for a fix, it was not working on 2.99 eater so when I found this update I did it thinking it was just out of date and stopped working.

http://www.webupd8.org/2013/10/install-rhythmbox-30-in-ubuntu-1310-or.html

Should I detest it and go back to 2.99 the page you sent me, I have no clue on what to do with all that stuff.

I found out they're no longer doing the album art in a window on the bottom of the player. 2014
