Brothers Printer MFC-J870DW will not scan

Printer will not scan Using a Dell Inspiron E1705 also a Dell Inspiron 1720. I thought all the features were installed when I downloaded the printer drivers. Please advise

Firstly

Given that that particular mode can scan to a USB you may not need to get scanning to work. I just use my Brother printer as a printer and go via USB for the rare occasions I need to scan.

Thanks I just used the scan to USB it was quick and easy compared with the download listed,
