hp-health failed to install on ProLiant DL165 G7
My server is a ProLiant DL165 G7 and I have:
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Release: 12.04
Codename: precise
Running on that.
I am having a suspected hardware issue with one of my ProLiant servers so I started to look around for what monitoring tools is available. I found this site and followed the instructions on how to get hold of them.
Added deb http://
apt-get update
apt-get install hp-health
And the following happened:
Setting up hp-health (9.4.0.1.7-5.) ...
Trying to identify the Product Name... Done
Using Proliant Standard
IPMI based 1XX System Health Monitor
/etc/init.
ERROR: There is NO IPMI support available on this system!
Please install the hp-OpenIPMI package or enable IPMI support
for this distribution. Aborting hp-health initialization process!
invoke-rc.d: initscript hp-health, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing hp-health (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Processing triggers for libc-bin ...
ldconfig deferred processing now taking place
Errors were encountered while processing:
hp-health
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
I could not find a hp-OpenIPMI package and I tried to install freeipmi but that did not work either. Any thoughts on how to proceed?
