Computer cannot find boot loader after installing Ubuntu

Asked by Andy G

Hi after installing Ubuntu on my computer the installation seems to have deleted some of the start up information. I was trying to install a dualboot of Windows 7 and Ubuntu, but my computer does not load either one or even a BIOS now. Additionally, upon trying to reinstall Ubuntu the installer could not detect any partition table although after running the (try ubuntu without installing option) it could detect that the partitions were still there.

When I run boot-repair I get the following error:
IBUS-WARNING **: The owner of /home/ubuntu/.config/ibus/bus is not root!

However, I was still able to generate the following file:

http://paste.ubuntu.com/7219884/

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

sudo chown root:root /home/ubuntu/.config/ibus/bus

Will fix the ownership message.

Omgubuntu has a guide called " sticking it to Grub " This should help you put Grub on the MBR and the OS should boot ok. I assume you are not using Wubi.

Can you help with this problem?
