ubuntu won"tload from usb

grub 2 package won't load. ubuntu1 working. I installed 12.10 once. tried to load 13.10, didn't work at all, just froze.. Now back to 12.10 and ubuntu1 lds. and grub 2pack won't load. I cleared the cmos, reload the iso using uui usb maker. ran scan disk and two unknow files not working is all the info it gives.. Dire Straits. Help ubuntu1 has me on the net if there is a way to ld from a network
