Can't make my Atheros AR5006EG wifi device work on Gutsy Gibbon!

Asked by JosepZ

Today I got a new Toshiba A200-1WR laptop, which includes an Atheros AR5006EG wireless device. The thing is that Ubuntu recognizes it ok (or that's what it seems when I type "lspci" on the console), but it doesn't detect my wireless internet connection. I can only get online through a wired connection, and the Network Manager only lets me configure manually a wired or a modem connection.
What can I do to make my wireless device work?

Thanks a lot.

I found a solution here: http://www.ubuntugeek.com/atheros-5007eg-with-madwifi-on-i386-platform.html

If anyone has the same problem, just follow the instructions and everything will work OK after a reboot.

Thanks for your help anyway.
