shutdown menu is taking so long to open

Hi there!
I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 32bit desktop version. It is running extremely well. But from the last few days whenever I click on Quit(Shutdown) icon from the panel or from System > Quit, it is taking too long to display quit options. It now takes half a minute or so to display it. So what could be the reason?
Thanks

Hi!
This problem appears when you disable the gnome-power-manager in your startup session.
Did you changed this option?

Hi,
Yes. I had disabled the power manager option from Session menu. Now I've enabled it and the issue is resolved.
Thank you very much for your help!
