Ubuntu installation pops-up an error while installing

Asked by Manuel Calavera

I have tried to install a fresh copy of Ubuntu 13.10 on an empty hard drive with no system from an USB flash drive. During the installation I receive the following pop-up message:

Installation Failed

The following file did not match its source copy on the CD/DVD:

/target/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libustring.so.0.1.2

This is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive or a faulty hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment

I have used the following program to create a bootable USB flash drive: Universal USB installer

System specs of the computer I'm trying to install the Ubuntu to are:
Intel Celeron @ 2,66 GHz
DDR400 1,5 GB
ATI Radeon R9600PRO

I am a novice user, not really accustomed to technical finesse, and I would really appreciate some help with this issue.

Thank you.

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
Did you burn it as slowly as possible?

I have pressed retry button and after a while it popped up another message with the following content:

The following file did not match its source copy on the CD/DVD:

/target/usr/share/icons/HighContrast/icon-theme.cache

This is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive or a faulty hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment

I have tried to press retry again but it just kept popping up the same issue. I have pressed skip button.

After the installation finished I restarted the computer, then it reported a system problem, I reported the problem, and then the following popped up:

Sorry, Ubuntu 13.10 has expirienced an internal error.
If you notice further problems, try restarting the computer.

As I said, I'm a complete novice. Now, here's what I did: I downloaded an ISO of Linux Ubuntu on one computer, and made a bootable flash drive on it to be installed on a second computer. Now, how do I open a terminal from the Windows on the first computer, and, is it possible to do such a thing? As far I can understand, I need to run the Ubuntu in order to open the terminal?

I am currently logged in on the machine that has mentioned Ubuntu installed, and I'm replying from it. The Ubuntu installed, but it kept popping up some errors. Is there any log file or something I can send you from it whic can help you resolve the issue easier, or something else. Also, I didn't mention, the update here failed.
