Installing Canon iP7260 printer

Asked by William Booker

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 on a Toshiba C850D laptop.
I've downloaded the Linux driver (tar.gz version), but how do I install it please?

Please follow these instructions:

http://handytutorial.com/install-canon-printer-driver-for-ubuntu-13-04-12-10-12-04/

When you get to this command

sudo apt-get install PACKAGE-NAME-HERE

please replace PACKAGE-NAME-HERE

with

cnijfilter-ip7200series

So the custom command should be

sudo apt-get install cnijfilter-ip7200series

Extract the file then install the deb files for your architecture. You can see this with:

uname -m

I686 = 32bit
X86_64 = 64bit

Can you help with this problem?
