Cannot access menu items in Firefox

After staring Ubuntu the LXDE shows. Then Firefox opens automatically. I cannot access the menu items (File, Bookmarks, Help, etc). It appears that the PC has to be shutdown each time by pressing the SHUTDOWN button on the machine as the browser page blanks out access to the LXDE desktop menus.

press F11.

I later realised that the browser window close icon in the top left can be used after pressing the F11 key. Many thanks for your kind help.
