How to install awn applets

Asked by Sbn on 2008-02-11

I read the instructions in the awn wiki, and tried to download applets from the gallery but there are no links to download!?
So when I open preferences in awn and click on one of the available applets listed and then click the + button a window opens and wants me to locate the right package. But I don't have any packages as I'm unable to download any...
Can anybody tell me what to do?

Thanks, but I have already done that. The problem is that even though the applets are available in awn manager list, they are not in the dock. What I want to know is how to get for example "trash can" or "show desktop" in the dock. My final goal is to get rid of the bottom panel. I have managed to add launchers to the dock, but not applets like the ones mentioned.

Additional info: this is a screenshot of my awn manager. What do I do here to get the results mentioned above?

Note:

Here is a 4 step easy way:

You'll need working compiz (Gutsy works perfect)

   1. Install AWN

   2. Install Screenlets

   3. Checkout Screenlets Repository(http://www.screenlets.org/index.php/Category:UserScreenlets)

   4. sudo apt-get install ubuntustudio-theme ubuntustudio-icon-theme

Hope that helps

Bhavani Shankar.
