Finally can print from Ubuntu 6.10, BUT?

Asked by Alexander F.

Now I can print from my HP 5610 which makes me very happy, however I can't figure out how to scan from my printer to a file in my computer. I have to scan to a file using my Windows hard drive, put it on a CD, then open my Ubuntu hard drive and then I can put it on a file from the CD. Why do I have to do it that way. I searched the Ubuntu program manager for a way to scan from my HP printer and there is nothing but the HP driver which I already installed. Any ideas?

Thanks..Alex

Thanks for your response. Yes, there are two xsane programs that are
installed in the program manager. Now all I have to do is figure out
how to use them with my HP 5610 printer scanner.
