cannot connect to web

i cannot connect to the inter net using the dial up modem because i have no high speed i have no way to download a dialer if it even exists how else do i connect using dial up with only live cd software ubuntu 7.10

i have a copy of ubuntu 7.10 i dont want to install it if i dont know if it can dial up to the net from the start or if i have to download an extenion

what make/model is your computer?

its a custom built machine with a 1.8GHz, 512 mb of ram and a 128 mb
graphics card
