I am getting to the mode and to the root - shell prompt but a new passwd isn't accepted. Am still haven't reset my admin password. Seemed someone hacked into my system and even chenged my email password still need some help. After password and username the response is either special device remount does not exist, or command not found

You have to type the commands exactly as they are given. Take special care for correct use of space characters.
There must be a space character before and after "-o" and before the slash "/", but not around the comma.

mount -o rw,remount /

Thanks am happy. This solved my problem and i was able to change the password. Only a little bit of a problem ubuntu 12.04 cannot update. The response that am getting from the update menu is either requires installation of untrusted packages or the action would require the installation of packages from unauthenticated sources. How can this be solved?
