how to rip music

Where are you getting the music from, what format are you downloading them in? Have you seen this page

Have you ever used

AUDACITY ( For Recording and Editing Audio files ) & K3B (for disc writing) ?

If you are using a later version of Ubuntu, you can download these two from Ubuntu Software Center (You will find it in APPLICATIONS)

'Sound & Video' in Ubuntu Software Center will help you to get some Applications for ripping.

I have used the 2 apps given above; but not the other ones.

You didn't answer Paul Mellors' first question. It is improtant.

You can also download SOUND CONVERTER from Ubuntu Software Center.
