Acer Aspire v3-571g with Xubuntu 12.04 cannot see wlan0

Asked by Ken

The xubuntu 12.04 installation on my Acer v3-571g cannot see wlan0. The wireless indicator light on the machine does not come on either.

I also have xubuntu 13.04 installed on this machine which works perfectly after modifying the file ath9k.conf

A little help will be appreciated!

Raring is EOL in a matter of weeks and you may want to upgrade it to Saucy soon.

What wifi chip does the system use?

Thanks
