dvd plugin

hi guys.i am facing some problems whit dvd playback capability.I am able to open with VLC but without sound and just this movie,because other works just great.I have installed "ubuntu-restricted-extras" "gxine gxineplugin" "libdvdread3" and all Automatix.i am using ubuntu 7.10 amd64. There is any application to check my media and find what drivers i need to install ? Please help thanx in advance

If you've installed libdvdread3 then it's a good idea to run this script:

sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/install-css.sh

It isn't automatically installed due to legal reasons. I think it is more likely to help you if some dvd's arn't working but it's worth a shot I guess.

first uninstall the Automatix it can confuse ur system
