Kernel Panic Message at Ubuntu 12.04.2

Asked by nakul

I am getting the Kernel Panic message at Ubuntu 12.04.2. This is a dell inspiron 1545 laptop.

The kernel panic message prevents me from doing any upgrade as the screen goes static. The exact wordings of the message are as under:-

[299.028198] Kernel Panic- not syncing: Fatal; exception in the interrupt.

There is a bug mentioned at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1212856 with some similar problem. But that threat is only for HP-Pavilion laptop.

In my attempt to solve my problem, I had made comments on the above mentioned link.
Christopher M. Penalver Had suggested to file a bug report corresponding to my hardware configuration. But while trying to run ubuntu-bug linux, the system just hags. And I have to restart the system manually.

Please tell possible solution to this problem.

Thanking you for help,

Regards,
nakul.
