This isn't really a question, I am tired of learning programing just to use an OS.

Asked by Ardent Whiteraven

I am writing today because I am frustrated. For several years I used Ubuntu without too many problems on an old HP desktop. It was wonderful and did what I wanted it to do. Then everyone swiched from the old AMD processors and when to the new ones, this was at Ubuntu 11. Ever since I have been having a really hard time getting Ubuntu to work for me. I am so frustrated I could scream.

I swiched from Windows to Linux because Windows is becomeing so unmanageable that I can no longer afford to waste so much time stripping and reloading it. Ubuntu is getting to be just as bad. I am now running Ubuntu Studio and it was ok at first, but now the file manager (thundar) isn't working properly and after attempting to change to a different one I have more problems than what I started with, including a sound driver that isn't working.

Note: I may be able to work in the terminal, but I don't want to. I want to be an end user and keep everything on my system running without having to regularly wipe everything down and reload it.

If I could affort it, I would run out and get a Mac, even today on Black Friday. Sadly I can't so I have to put up with either Linux (which is still my preffered OS even over the MAC proprietary) or heaven forbid reinstall Windows. For now I am running away from Ubuntu again and I'll go to my back up, Mint which isn't perfect but a whole heck of a lot more stable than Ubuntu.

Just so you know; if your goal is to beat Windows, you *have not* yet succedded. Your management may pretend, but I know better since I am evidence that Ubuntu still has a long way to go. The *only* reason I write today is to let you know this and maybe someone in your organization will care enough to listen.

I really don't have time for this, but Mint here I come...

Oh, PS... I do not know who you think you are putting such vulagr advertising in the software center. The three games listed have graphics that are totally offensive to me and I have no other way to complain, but here at the end of this comment.

"Mint here I come" .... Mint is based on Ubuntu, but it is not an official Canonical release of Ubuntu.

If you want to go Mint, go to: http://forums.linuxmint.com/

Is there an Ubuntu question here or is this just a worthless rant?

Another rant from a user suffering from the delusion that Canonical devs and bugwigs are actually reading this...

This forum/site is for users supporting users. If you want to rant at Ubuntu devs, designers, business managers, etc., you came to the wrong place! Since there's no question to solve here, please mark it solved.

Can you help with this problem?
