new installed ubuntu doesnt run

hello,
i just installed ubuntu 12.04.3 in a new laptop
and it doesnt accept my password.. claiming that something is disabled by bios
and refers me to terminal, to put my username and password, but doesnt accept them...
what should i do???

When are you asked for the password exactly?

yes, ofcourse..
meanwhile i re-installed ubuntu and trying to install the desktop
gave this command:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
it's still installing..

it works! :))
now im trying to figure out how to install/activate the wireless..
will ask if i run into difficulties.. ;)
