Need guidance on what package to file a bug against

Asked by Slight Slightly

I'm getting random crashes in various apps since upgrading to edgy (clean install). Mainly FF and gnome-terminal, which are known issues, but also other apps (gaim, thunderbird) just randomly closing and not being caught by bug buddy or whatever it's called. I've run memtestx86 and that came up clean.

Any suggestion where I should post the bug?

Thanks

Tolan.

If you can, try posting a bug to each package, as each package should've logged their crash differently and done things in other ways after crashing.

You upgraded to the Ubuntu, Kubuntu or Xubuntu edgy ? With 64bit support or 32bit one ? With which kernel ?

It wasn't an upgrade install, it was a fresh install.

Ubuntu 32bit. There's only one kernel now isn't there? Anyway I'm running generic.

There are three kernels, i386, server and generic (plus server-bigiron). Generic one is for 64 and 32 bits architectures.

Can you help with this problem?
