Have you tried removing the printer you have then rebooting then readding it again?

Please send us the full Terminal output of this command:
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install hplip; lsmod | grep usb ; lsusb ; ls -l /dev/usb/lp* /dev/bus/usb/*/* ; hp-info -i; lpinfo -v; sudo usb_printerid /dev/usb/lp0; hp-doctor
Please copy-paste the command into the Terminal instead of typing each letter manually....

Your Terminal output shows the following issue:
"
warning: 3 queues of same device hp_LaserJet_1000 is configured.
Remove unwanted queues.
"
First run these Terminal commands:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install --reinstall hpijs
sudo apt-get install --reinstall hpijs-ppds
sudo apt-get install --reinstall printer-
sudo apt-get install --reinstall printer-
Then please delete all 3 CUPS printer queues and then add just one printer queue.
Then retest printing.
The other Terminal output seems to be ok.

I ran first three comands and this is what I get:
barry@barry-
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package hpijs is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:

You can skip this command:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall hpijs
However, you did not copy-paste the next command.
I wrote:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall hpijs-ppds
You wrote:
sudo apt-get --reinstall hpijs-ppds
Not the same thing.
Please copy-paste the commands in order to avoid manual typo's like the one above.

i followed some instructions above and i ended up with a big HP program installed with icons and dialogues and windows stuff all from HP
and all i needed was to use my HP inkjet printer to print a page
but a message in my 16.04 LTS printer dialogue window said:
"/usr/lib/
now i ended up with this old HP program and printer still show the above message...
how i can delete this whole HP thing?
i am not even good using like a pro the terminal :-(
and is there another idea or tip how i can fix the cups file so i can use a simple HP printer?
thank you kindly
