I am using ubuntu. I have fujitsu scanner scansnap s500.Is there a driver available for linux

The Fujitsu ScanSnap s500 should work just find in Ubuntu.

when I connect the fujitsu scanner it is not recognised

What errors do you get, if any, from Xsane Image Scanner? What version of Ubuntu are you using? What is the output from the command lsusb?

The scanner is not recognised by Ubuntu and Xsane image scanner says no
sacnner found. Iam using the latest version of ubuntu Gusty Gibbon
