Can't install Ubuntu
Asked by
zzzxxx
I try to install Ubuntu on my desktop, but don't want dual boot, just Ubuntu.
How can I make the installation run?
System is formated with an old Win 98 Sysdisk.
I downloaded Ubuntu from Link burnt with Infra Recorder, disk check and winMd5 sad everything OK.
If I put Ubuntu Disk in and reeboot the Welcome Screen appears and I can choos Start or install Ubuntu, if I select it, Ubuntu loads the drivers and after short while screen freezes and nothing can be recognized anymore. Mostly PC freezes altogether (Mouse, Keyboard).
I got Ubuntu 7.10 and 6,06 (32 Bit) nothing is working.
Which version is needed?
Do I still need Windows or Linux?
Thanks for your help!
