Unlock keyring pops up a few moments after startup

Asked by Stephen Weber

Hello,
I am using the new Ubuntu 13.10 with all the updates applied. Everytime I startup my computer, a few moments after startup a window pops up asking me to "Unlock Login Keyring" saying "Enter password to unlock your login keyring. The login keyring did not get unlocked when you logged into your computer." Once I enter in my password, it then goes away. However I have the automatic login turned on, so this shouldn't be coming up in the first place. How do I get it to actually autologin?

This can be caused by wifi disconnects. You can resolve that or if you set a blank keyring password you will never get bothered. You can set the blank password using the password application in Dash.

What is the output of :

sudo lshw -C network; lsb_release -a; uname -a

Thanks

I am using 13.10 and the pop up message can happen a couple of times in session. I am using auto login and to get the keyring prompt ONCE would be...the security working. But three or four times in a couple of hours is not right.

My keyring passowrd and my loging password are the same.

Not using a password for the keyring is not really a solution it's a hack that makes the systems less secure. And thats fine but it doesn't really address what's causing it.

Any ideas?
