Phone card does not appear in 13.10

Asked by Seved Torstendahl

A couple of days ago I updated from Ubuntu 13.04 to 13.10.
Earlier with 13.04 I could connect my smartphone (Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S) to my computer and a file manager window would pop up with PHONE CARD mounted where I could find all files from the SD card in the phone. I have set my phone to use MSC mode (mass storage ...), not MTP.
With 13.10 nothing happens! It does not help to change to MTP.
If I connect a USB memory stick it is mounted as expected.
I rebooted the machine to Kubuntu 12.04.3(?) and then the phone card appeared as expected.

Do you get any error message in the output of the command "dmesg" that is related to the device after you connect it?

The messages are repeated twice, I made a mistake when copying the text.

This is related to a bug that has been fixed recently and should be in the usual updates soon.
